I’m Deepa Raikar, founder of Chic Drrapes. 

For years, working in the IT world, I held deep love for sarees. Like many women, I constantly found myself saving my favorite weaves for special occasions.

The ones I loved, were often too stiff for a long day at work or heavy to sit in comfortably for hours. Somewhere along the way, wearing a saree started to feel more like a project.

I started looking for sarees that were made of light fabric, easy to drape, comfortable to stay in for hours.. and that's how the journey of Chic Drrapes began. 

My Philosophy -

How a saree feels on your skin matters, just as much as how it looks in pictures. You should never have to compromise your comfort, to look elegant.

Every single saree in our store is selected with comfort-first mindset. From soft, breathable cottons and rich handlooms to lightweight pure silks and tissue silks, I personally curate weaves from artisans across India. We look closely at the weight of the fabric, its texture, and how easily it drapes, so you can step into your day feeling light, confident and entirely at ease.

Sarees Made to Be Lived In

I believe in building a mindful and a meaningful wardrobe. A beautiful saree shouldn't spend years folded away in a closet waiting for a rare wedding or a party. We focus on versatile, high-quality textiles that look just as striking in a morning board meeting as they do at a family dinner or a weekend gathering. These are sarees made for repeat wear; drapes you genuinely look forward to wearing again and again.

Chic Drrapes is my effort to keep us connected to our roots without the stiff formal friction.
